Over the last years, collected, generated, or used data in the development of research projects has received the attention of the scientific community and the research management agencies. At European level, the Horizon 2020 Program and its pilot called Open Research Data have promoted the "Research Data Management" (RDM).
This concept embraces different activities related to the creation, organization, structuring, storage, preservation and sharing of data. For this reason, financed projects by the European Commission require the development of a Data Management Plan (DMP) and the data deposit in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) with the aim to increase the efficiency and transparency of the research through a fast dissemination of results and to ease the reuse.

Objectives: To study in multiple sclerosis (MS) the immunological and clinical implications of the regulation of Natural Killer (NK) cells based on immune checkpoints (PD-1, CTLA-4, TIGIT, Tim-3, NKG2A, Lag3), developing the following objectives: O1) Study of the expression of immune checkpoints in NK cells and their relationship with MS clinical features and herpesvirus infections (Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus); 2) Evaluation of NK
cell responses against EBV-infected B cells upon blocking of immune checkpoint pathways; 3) Study of the modifications exerted by immunomodulatory therapies on immune checkpoint expression and NK cell function; and 4) Study of immune checkpoint pathways in NK and T cells from MS patients, elucidating specific mechanisms
aimed to enhanced NK cell-mediated responses without increasing a harmful autoreactive T cell responses.
Methodology: O1) Transversal study in controls and MS patients evaluating the expression of immune checkpoints i

Tackling environmental challenges is this generation’s defining task (EC Green Deal 2020). A significant part of this involves reducing the release of environmental contaminants or actively removing them from the environment. Environmental contaminants may be considered as any physical, chemical, biological, or radiological substance or matter that has an adverse effect on air, water, soil, or living organisms.
During the course of this project an interdisciplinary group, involving mathematicians, physicists, chemical and environmental engineers sought to further the understanding of adsorption, a process which is a key element of many contaminant capture technologies. The group were successful in finding approximate analytical solutions to quantify experimentally observed behaviour. Specifically novel models were developed for the capture of trace amounts of water contaminants, large amounts of gaseous contamina (len: 1541)
